Have you ever tried to catch a butterfly? They can sure wear one out. If you think that is any easier with at camera…it is not. First of all they are not willing participants. They have the wings and we do not. What I found that worked in this situation was to use a higher ISO then I would normally use ISO 800 in this case and a shutter speed around 1250. I also tried to sneak up on it lol. Fast shutter speeds and fast lenses work all the time. It also helps to be in the butterfly gardens at Brookside Gardens.
