In Tribute – Washington’s World War II Memorial
In the fall, at night it can get cold in the Washington DC metro area. But as I was creating these photographs the realization hit me that during World War II it was war and it was cold. Sometimes the reality of the location that I am photographing hits me like a ton of bricks. So with patience I take my time and see things that I would have missed if I hurried through the project.
These images where taken with a Nikon D300, Nikon MC-30 remote trigger release, Nikon AF 17-55mm f/2.8 lens. In order to stabilize the camera I used the Manfrotto 190CX3 tripod. The exposure was f/10 @ 25 seconds. Brrrrr it sure was cold out. I am sure glad that the young lady in the photo sat still.
